Dagachhu Project (Registration No. 2746) had been registered as a CDM Project on February 26, 2010.  The project is estimated to generate 515 GWh of electricity annually, which will provide 500,000 (average) Certified Emission Reduction (CER) certificates for trading with a crediting period from 2014 to 2021 (renewable). This is the first Cross-Border Clean Development Mechanism project in the region.
During the first crediting period, Dagachhu had generated 2.3 million emission Reduction of which 781,381 CERs had been sold and earned a revenue of USD. 7,769,143.00.
UNFCCC CDM Executive Board has approved the renewal of second crediting period till March 31, 2028. However, as required and allowed under new market Mechanism, UNFCCC has approved transition of Dagachhu CDM project under Article 6.4 of Paris Agreementon November 25, 2025 with effective date from the date of deregistration from CDM by UNFCCC.
